Nathan's Point

A modern-era proto-freelance H0 scale layout with a NSW terminal and regional theme.

The layout is a point-to-point design with the open staging yard being the main yard (Jonestown) of the layout and comprising of a basic loco facility, intermodal terminal, grain receival terminal and a passenger station.

From the yard, the mainline (or in this case the branchline) operates through a grain loading town (Heidiville) and then continues onto the terminus town (Nathans Point) which is also a grain town and includes a regional intermodal terminal, passenger station, and small steel distribution centre.

There is no hidden staging, with all trains operating with an on-layout purpose.

Follow along as the layout finally gets closer to reality during 2018 and 2019!

Time for a new shed (Train Room!)

This week has seem the demolition of the existing shed - which was no good for model trains due to rodents, damp, and vegetation.

A new 4m x 12m shed will be going up later this month, with fully insulated walls and roof, and walls lined with plywood.

Once that is finished, it will be time to move in Wills St.

The New Shed

Things have finally settled down after moving and I am getting quotes for a new shed (aka Train Room).

WIth site constraints the best I am going to do is 4m wide by 10m long.  This will fit Wills st length ways, but it looks like I might be taking a metre or so off the width.

The plans for the shed include full insulation and plywood internal walls.

Cheers

Moving House

Well, it had to happen.

A train set has led to a house move. The good news is that it has room for a pretty big shed out the back, although it may be a little narrow.

Give me 6 weeks and I'll post another update!

Cheers
